It's a privilege to live in mid-coast Maine.  I have easy access to the entire southern half of the state with its unique natural resources.

The conditions I often look for when I capture photographs are not rare, but not everyday occurrences, either. I prefer the kind of cloudy-bright weather that brings out the detail in the landscape - small or large. Sunny and dry usually doesn't look interesting to me. Finding those conditions means watching the weather closely - following detailed forecast maps that predict cloud cover, wind and temperature on a local basis - and being ready to move quickly when they are favorable in a area.
